I can remember my grandad having an avacado plant that they had as an indoor plant in a well lit room. I was just wondering how to grow one from seed? what is the best method to germinate and grow the plant?

i find the seeds germinate readily enough out in the garden, so maybe pop a seed into a pot and keep it damp and in a warm spot.

the other way is to suspend the seed using 2 toothpicks one pushed into either side of the seed and suspend it that way over a jar whatever of water with the stem end of the seed downward.
