taniaa Your local nursery or produce store would be the best one to ask as it depends on what they stock. Each fertiliser has a code on the packet such as 3:6:5 which represents the relative ammount of nitrogen versus phosphorus versus potassium that it contains or its N:P:K ratio. Therefore the higher the middle number, the more phosphorus it contains relative to the other 2 elements so compare them on the basis of this. My books just recommend a good balanced fertiliser for Frangipanis but I guess it depends on the local soil.
The best source of phosphate is superphosphate, with no other additives. If you go to a produce store, or farm supply type store, they will often sell it to you 'loose'. Take a container in and they charge by the weight. Otherwise, small bags can be got from Hardware House. Dressing it up, adding nitrogen etc, is just a way of increasing the cost by several 100 percent. I buy it by the large bagful for my bearded irises. Cheers, Jan
