is there a secret to growing Corriander?

Hi there - i have tried a cple of times to grow Corriander with out success - recently I have planted some seedlings in very well composted soil and with in days the leaves were going a mottled brown - new growth is very tiny leaves and it is already going to flower - does anyone know what i am doing wrong?

Transplanted seedlings have a habit of bolting to seed. Try sowing the seed directly into the final position.

no expert here.

but the heat can also make them bolt as i understand it, so might be better grown in a cooler shadier spot? or in large pots that can be provided these conditions, or grow in the autumn or early spring if not through winter.
