espalliered lilly pilly

I have a bare shed wall against which I want to espallier something to soften it. There isn't much room as we use the adjacent area for access. Would syzigium australe be suitable? Has anyone had success doing this?

RE: espalliered lilly pilly

Given the huge number of SA cultivars, you'd need to be more specific when choosing your subject. I've never attempted to espalier anything, but I have a suspicion that one of the Acmena Smithii might be a better choice - mine has something of a 'candelabra' shape by default. Just check the label for mature height, then add a metre or two :)

Cheers,

Artie
