blanching & freezing runner beans

blanching & freezing runner beans, i've got a surplus of them picking about 2 kg per week. does anyone have experience about blanching & freezing runner beans? the info i've got from a Yates guide about 30 years old is to blanch them for 3 minutes, i doubt i would cook fresh beans even this long! i don't want to end up with a freezer full of beans that taste like commercially available frozen beans, i don't like the (dis)taste of them at all. thanks

Hi Len, still look into gardenweb occasionally. i left work at an NGO in late June, rec'd death threat from client not satisfied with level of service that could be provided with meagre available resources. Have been quite reclusive since, just starting to sniff around re employment, wasn't too keen to come across the client. I'll check out the garden express site, see ya, kombi
