| I've got three white mulberry cuttings in a pot. One has died, the other are two hanging on but struggling. Mine is a problem of very poor choice of potting soil. It's very porous so although it has excellent drainage it dries out too fast. My cuttings, I think, are suffering from drought/flood syndrome! Could it be some sort of fungal disease, like damping-off that affects seedlings? In case it is, make a weak chamomile tea solution - 1 or 2 teabags in a mug with boiling water, steep for 4 or 5 minutes, empty tea into a watering can and fill up with tap water, water plants well. It certainly won't do them any harm. |

| Always plant cuttings in gritty sand (granite is great) it drains well and doesnt dry out too easily. You will have a greater success rate as fungal diseases do not occur so easily with sand as they do in the various potting/propagating mixes. (sounds like a damping off type of fungal problem has got your mulberry cutting) Dont give up on the other two yet. |
