| getting it submitted, sorry folks yet another attempt 4+ in total to get my reply submitted.
use heaps of gypsum the better quality gypsum most closely resembles damp talcum powder. do a soil test to see if you ahve caly you can actually make a difference to soak some in water for about 24 hours if it dissolves all good and well if not then you may not immidiately be able to do anything. do a root zone ph test to see if you should add dolomite lime as well. with the drainage probelms clay causes it may be better to plant your trees in a raised position that is with about 1/2 the root ball above ground level. or do raised beds whatever. my opinion cut to the chase and do raised beds throw a heap of gypsum on the ground 1st. my experience gypsum will work at any depth i found in one instance the deeper the better almost. len getting flustered |

| Len, what's the problem you're experiencing in posting messages to the forums? And what browser are you using? |
|
| g'day cestrum, i'll send you an e/mail but needless to say i am not the only one there are those in the usa who are having problems as well as those here in australia i go to many other fforums and have no problems anymore than i expect with my slow rural dial up connection. this all started when the regime changed and continues to worsen. len |

| have sent e/mail again not sure if it went strange things happened. please feel free to contact my by my e/mail addy on my page here or use this address gardenl1 at bigpond dot com. len |

| Len, Sorry to be involved as part of the hassles you experienced. I know it's the GardenWeb AdFest that's caused you the problems rather than me directly but I still feel a little guilty about stressing you out over it. I appreciated the reply - does that help?...*grin* |

| sorry mooquack, my frustrations weren't vented toward you or your request for help. i tried at least 4 times to respond to you original post losing each post just trying to get the first pain before submitting is allowed. if the banner and side ads get any bigger there won't be any room left for words on the page. it took at least 2 efforts to get this post on air. and the only way i could get any mesage to cestrum was when cestrum provided me with an e/mail addy other than the one provided through the forum. len |

| Len and I have discussed the problem via email, and he'll try to tackle it after the move to Brisbane. Just like to say that, while I've experienced problems now and then, it's nothing on the scale described by Len, and I use only a dialup modem. I'd just suggest to anyone else experiencing the problem to try a browser with an inbuilt pop-up suppressor. My browser of choice is Mozilla Firefox. Incidentally, when a message is rejected, instead of retyping it, try to hit the back arrow to return to the message dialogue box and edit the message until it's accepted. |

| yup they win! i cede this is using firefox seems to be heaps better so far? len |

| That's good news, Len. Just remember that Firefox might not work properly with some sites, so use it where it does and use the MS browser elsewhere. Here's another tip: there are some popup ads that seem to elude the popup suppressor. To get rid of these, I turn off J*A*V*A*S*C*R*I*P*T (would you believe that the censor software doesn't allow that word!). Do this by clicking on the Tools tab at the top of the Firefox page, then Options, then Web Features, then the J word--you can uncheck both J words here. To make pages download the fastest they can, I also turn off images (uncheck Load images). If you do this, you'll have the leanest version of Firefox that will download the webpages at the fastest speed possible on a dialup modem. Of course, you need J*A*V*A*S*C*R*I*P*T and images on some websites, so you could simply use another browser for those sites. Or you could turn them back on; whatever's easiest. Good luck! |
