I have treated pine as supports in my shade house.I have a large Vanilla bean growing on a tree and want to take some cuttings and let one grow on the post.I was wondering if the plant would absorb any of the poisons as their roots adhere to the post?

RE: Growing plants on treated timber posts

Treated pine has a poison that leaches into the soil and plants near the pine. It is agreed by most of the gardening gurus it is a no no. Just a few minutes ago(9am sat) Peter Cundall expressed this view on the abc show at the Caulfield race courseHope this helps
