Growing Protea 'Neriifolia' from seed

Hi,
I have collected Protea Neriifoia seeds which I wish to germinate. Any special tips on germinating these seeds would be appreciated. There's nothing in my gardening books.
Thanks
Vicki

Proteas need an acid based potting mix, but I'd use a native one and you will need to use a smoke starter. They do not like root disturbance so use separate tubes. I did not have much luck with my first lots, nor did I use these instructions!!!! I'm hoping for better luck this time. I think they can also be slow to germinate.
