Can Anyone Help ID This Tree?

Posted by veggielvr NSW (My Page) on

Hi everyone,

I am hoping someone out there can tell me what this tree is, it was started as a cutting and so far no flowers have appeared which I thought was kind of strange, don't all trees get flowers at some point? You can tell I'm not a tree expert :)

Cheers,
LJ

It looks like some type of fig. These have a very invasive root system so unless it is far from any drains or house foundations I would not have it growing. Maybe take a piece to a nursery for identification.

It looks like Ficus rubiginosa, Port Jackson Fig.
