pH and lawn question

Posted by Genny_BP NE NSW (My Page) on

I have clay soil. The pH in the lawn area I am having a problem with is 5 to 5 1/2

The problem is that the couch runners are are coloured red to purple and the sprigs that develop don't take in the soil.

Any clues/suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Gen

RE: pH and lawn question

Add some Lime that will sweeten the soil and bring it up closer to neutral which is around 6.5 -7.5.
Mind you there are plenty of plants that love the ph like that,
How about a lawn starter for your runners it may help Cheers..MM.

Sorry I forgot get a big bag of Gypsum that helps break up clay soil
And add compost if you have it..MM
