Variegated Osterspermum

Hi Everyone, Don't know which site to post this on, but hope some one will know about this.
I have had a sport grow on our osteospermum that has variegated olive green, yellow and white foliage. The bloom colour is pure white, right through to the eye.
Has anyone seen this type of plant available commercially? Would it be of interest to the garden lover?
Thanks, Brian Kerr.

Hi, You could try to contact one of the numerous wholesale nurserys for example www.pga.com.au. This is exactely one of the ways new breeds of plants are developed. They would be able to tell you of the existance of plants like your sport and if it would be worthwhile to put it throught any trials to test for viability. If all this is successful and the plant is indeed a new breakthrough, you may well have nameing rights to your find. Fingers crossed and please let us know of any results. How exciting. Amanda. |
