Hi banger and many Welcomes. No idea sorry , must be some type of
seed as it had roots at the bottom of it, Strange you are so right.
Could be be a tree seed as lots of our trees here have big bean like seeds.

To get your Pic on to this posting just copy from your tag line in photobucket
And paste in the line under your discription like this. I have put your Pic below.
I hope you dont mind this little bit of help.... Cheers...MM Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Thanks MM.

I have seen seeds and I have seen seeds. This thing is more animal. The brown part is soft and "brainy". It feels living and there is no hard seed like parts. The root looking things threw me too. If I was to bet my last dollar, I wuld be saying cuccoon more than seed.

Yes you could be right but maybe its a egg of some kind, like a Lizard
We have lots on our block and last year we had heaps of baby lizards
Sorry I can't help but no doubt someone will know. Cheers..MM

I think it is a type of puffball (fungi) The clear part is like gelatine and the white membrane is quite firm and when they ripen they explode and cloud of khaki/brown dust like dry mustard appears on the ground. It is a plant not an animal. You will probably find some of the "dust heaps" around as there are usually more around if there is one.
