I have a wild flower growing in my garden it has 6 white petals in a star shape, 3 of them have yellow coming out from the centre, inside the centre is an additional 3 petals which curl up and are slightly purple. The stem is long and thin, with strappy leaves. Can anyone point me in the direction of identifying this plant. Thank you.

Could it be a type of iris? Or perhaps a dietes? (Do a google image search for pics of either.

I'd think Cestrum is right - sounds very much like Dietes
