Pom pom carnations

Posted by genny_bp NE NSW (My Page) on

I have purchased two lots of these cut flowers from one of the big supermarket chains.
I have been very impressed with how long they last...up to 10 days and still looking great.

I was interested in getting some seeds or seedlings to grow my own.

Does anyone have suggestions of possible sources.
(Google Australia returns no results)

Thanks
Gen

RE: Pom pom carnations

If your carnations are annuals you should be able to havest the seeds from the fading flowers and sow them seed trays. If they are the perennial carnation they can be propagated by plant division: if the plant has formed any sort of clump just lift it, gently break the plant apart ensuring roots are attached to each piece and pot up or plant out. I've had good success with those.
