carnivorous plants

My son is wanting a venus fly trap or some kind of carnivorous plant can any one tell me where I can get one have tried all local nurseries with no luck

I have seen them at Bunnings a while ago. Just keep looking, they come out from time to time. Might have more luck in spring.

Where in Australia are you located? They seem to be a staple at the major garden centres around these parts. The more tropical states probably aren't the best climates to grow them in so they may be a bit more scarce in Qld/NT. They are winter dormant so, as Pos02 said, you may have to wait until spring before they become a bit more abundant in shops. If by chance you're in Victoria, Gardenworld (Collectors Corner) in Keyborough will have them. Otherwise Triffid Park will sell a large number of different forms via mailorder (www.triffidpark.com.au). Alternatively contact a local carnivorous plant society and see if there member's want to sell you plants (www.vcps.au.com/contents/societies.htm).

Thanks guys as usual when i have a problem I get my answers on this great site I am in Victoria so will try some of the recomendations given. My sons birthday in August was hoping to get him one for then.
