This tree has been in the ground about 6 years, but it's become quite debilitated. Maybe 5 foot high (it has been cut back before). It's in too much shade for a start, now, especially winter. I think one year I had about 30 fruit, this year I had two. It's absolutely riddled with gall-wasp, if I prune all that off there's be virtually nothing left. Is it worth doing this AND trying to move it in which case could I do it now, or should I just forget, give it the complete chop and start with a new plant elsewhere if and when the drought ever breaks?
Thanks for the link, Dee. But others have written that to fertilize then, and promote new growth, just opens it up to more infestation. I think I'm going for the chop.
