Me thinks there is some name duplication and overlap of features, (e.g., I would prefer to see the terms feathered and hige reserved for petals that display appreciable / variable splitting of the main petal structure(s) otherwise there would be no difference from a simple double or triple) but I cannot get the entries fixed without significantly 'ruffling some feathers'... I would say that at this point based upon the structural features that are showing that it most closely resembles the Feathered Purple... Hope that helps... TTY,... First is Jewelweed. Really good for butterflys and hummers. Also great to spread on your skin if you get poison ivy. Always try on your skin before using to see if you have a problem with the gel. Second is a type of dock. Use a long knife and cut the roots way underground. If the root turns yellow it is similar to the burdock that you can purchase in many grocery stores. 3 I am not certain but appears similar to Virginia Bluebells. However you have a much worse problem at the base of the picture, vinca. Vinca will take over everything including climbing trees and will with time be the only plant there. We have it across the street and other than providing cover for a few creatures there is no use for it. 4-5 Your plant may be lesser celadine because you mention flowers. Rather than getting rid of the things you have pictured most would be trying to divide to have more to plant.

This is a shot showing more of what used to be a lawn with established grass that has been taken over by this spreading 'thing': Another close up of the plant: And whatever monster vine from the neighbor's fence that has established thick roots into the lawn, which seem to be separate from the ground cover plants: I think at this point I will need to trench at the fence line killing everything coming into the yard and place a metal barrier both under and above ground the length of the property - d@mn, that's just short of 300 feet - and then figure out a way to eradicate what is here. It might take a complete removal of everything, tilling and replacement of sod. A restart, which really bites since this lawn was established, at minimum, in the 1920s. I'll also need to figure out how to permanently kill whatever is under the raised house, which currently isn't as bad as the lawn, but there are plants growing that have never previously been there. Would anyone have a suggestion of the depth I should place such a barrier? Do vines and any roots typically stay at or close to ground level? Many thanks in advance!
