When to prune grasses

Posted by glennjones QLD (My Page) on

Hi all,

I have Swamp Foxtail grasses in the garden. They have been growing well since they were planted in Sept 07. They have flowered and up until now have been green. They have started to droop and go brown. Is it time to cut them back and if so, how aggressively?

Thanks

I would only prune them if they start to look a bit old and lifeless. Maybe just hack at them so there is still a bit of structure to them (they won't grow back until spring). You could always try on one of two and see how they go.
