trying to grow something between my pathing stones

Has anyone got any advice on how and what i can grow between pathing stones? I plan to lay my pathers on a bed of sand with a space of about 3cm between them and would like to grow something in this space. My problem is my pathers are only 3 cm thick so even if i fill the space with soil( which i am reluctant to do for fear of dirtying the pavers) i don't have much for the grass or plants to grow in. My house is in Corsica which has a climate not unlike south east Queensland. This is a holiday house and i only tend to spend the summer there, thus what ever i plant must be drought resistant, in short i need a miracle plant that i can find here. Thanks in advance, Rick
ps Corsica is a small island in the mediterranean sea |

| Hi Rick, if youre still looking you might try - dwarf mondo grass, creeping thyme, armeria varieties or zoysia grass. Good luck |

| I've never planted anything between my pavers, there just isn't space. However, violets, alyssum and erigium (seaside daisy) have planted themselves in large numbers. Even some helleborus orientalis! They soften the look of the pavers and if they're in the way I either pour boiling water on them (not any more with the drought though) or use the blade of the spade to discourage them. Lucky you in Corsica as we shiver in a Canberra winter! |
