mysterious daisy

this is a sad tale of a much loved daisy bush(name unknown)
some years ago I was given a cutting of a daisy unlike most
the flower head had many petals and no yellow centre similar to a madeira daisy but larger flowers it grew to about one metre and had leaves like a marguerite , but was neither a typical marguerite nor a madeira ....
one day it just died ,but I managed to save a cutting and it was doing fine until the local possum jumped on it,
that was 2 years ago and I have since search high and low for another daisy just like it and have bought many that promised to be the same but wasnt..I suppose it could be best described as a cross between a chrysanthemum & a daisy
anyone have anything similar? or any ideas?
