manure

I have a vegie patch that the soil has got very tired. I can get heaps of horse manure for nothing. Is this ok for manuring the earth

RE: manure

yes - simple answer - and the more you can put into your soil the better

some problems with manure:

horse manure has a lot of undigested seeds so you may get a crop of oats or what ever else the horse has eaten

cow manure - depending where you get it from - if its from a feedlot it may have a lot of trace chemicals from the feed they eat - - hormones, antibiotics, also the chance of spreading what ever worms the cattle had

chook - same thing - growth hotmones and antibaterials and the problems with breathing dried chook poo

sheep - from shearing sheds may have had a lot of the nutrients leached from it

anyway - dig it in and enjoy the fruits of your labour
