I kind of knew it would rain today

Planned a special day out at Seaworld today got everything ready last night except the food and guess what it has been heaving down here South of Brissie, isn't that terrific. We can always go next Monday as we have a Annual Pass

But what I am worried about is yesterday I planted four very small tomato seedlings, and onion red odourless. Also lots of broad bean, sugar snap peas, lettuce, and other seeds, and I watered all of the raised beds before I planted everything as the soil was so dry since I got them ready a while back. Raining too heavy to go right down the back to have a look..

Will they survive as every other time I have planted seeds and its rained soon after they never came up .
Guess I will just have to wait and see...The rain is very Welcome though ....Cheers..MM.

P.S. Its also a trifle cool looks like Autumn is here to stay:

Send the rain this way, MM. We are just getting enough to be a nuisance but not enough to water the vegie garden. I had planned on spending the day in the garden today, had all the housework and other jobs out of the way and everything planned. Just enough rain to wet my shirt and make me cold! If it was going to rain I wish it would be worthwhile.

It's a shame about the outing and I hope the seeds sprout for you. I put off planting seeds when Larry and Wati were hanging around as I half expected it to pour and wash away the seeds. Maybe I should have planted them, it might have made it rain :)

Hopefully we will get some good rain soon as I have noticed the trees on the side of the roads have a lot of new growth on them and some murrayas at school are coming into flower. Fingers crossed.

Raining here too - wonderful what a new moon in a water constellation after an eclipse will do! Unless the rain is torrential misty, your seeds should be ok - its when it comes down so hard they wash into the next door's garden that you have to worry. It will rain more this month so hang onto your umbrellas. We just had a s**t of a day - the windows for he childcare centre arrived and won't fit the holes. $8,000 worth. I think the builder who measured them is heading your way - if you see him, trip him up and post him my way........

It's been threatening to rain here for a couple of days, but there's been nothing. I put off watering and now I think I should have done it. Oh well.....

Glad you got some rain MM. It is a shame about your seeds, but don't give up hope, they might be alright. I hope you get your trip to Seaworld on a nice sunny day.

Cheers,
Dee.

Yes the rain was a bit heavy but raised garden beds here, some of the pea seeds were on top of the soil but I have pushed them down now, I dont think the smaller seeds stood a chance if they come up it will be in the lowest corner, 23 mm of rain we got hard and fast...

O that is terrible about those Childcare Centre windows CG are they bigger or smaller as sometimes they can be fixed we had the same kind of problem here with windows hubby and I hand built this house and when all the windows came two were the wrong size they all had the wide reveals like for a brick veneer house and ours is hardiplank even though we told the guy we ordered them from so we were faced with cutting off all the extra timber a terrible job... I will trip him up if I see him dont you worry..Thats good about the rain I will be looking forward to it all.

Hi GH I hope you start getting a bit of rain too, and there is a real nip in the air down here.....Cheers...MM.

No doubt about it MM, we have your planned outing to thank. Nice shower here GC this morning, a more decent one this afternoon and a rumbly but not too productive storm at lunchtime. Still static on the radio, it's not all gone. Hope your seedlings survive and Alison is a sook because she has a long-sleeved top on tonight. Autumn IS here. Hope we get more than 3 days of it I'm getting a bit tired of SEQ only getting 2 seasons like past years.

Hi Misty,

Hope its still raining, your photos look good. The windows were too big, but another builder (one of the Dads) rushed to the rescue and has got them in somehow in exchange for a day's babysitting his 4 daughters. They are special safety glass ones so thank goodness holes can be made wider and windows don't shrink. Carousel is starting to turn. There's some pics if you are interested - I put some up on my website for my other daughter who is cooking another grandson in Hobart so can't be pressganged. I am still thinking through the gardens and looking forward to spring and all my little mini garden helpers.

Here is a link that might be useful: Stage 1 of Carousel

Hey CG You are all doing a marvelous job there. !!Well done!! as least the windows being too big you can fill in, your pics are great Thanks so much for posting them . What a marvelous Community where everyone hops in and helps and here was me thinking that they don't do that anymore I am so glad I am wrong..

Love that viewing window that did not take long, you are not going to B-B-Q those poor cows are you ( strange thing for this meat eater to say ) but it is so different when you know them they are like family especially when you talk to them all the time.. If Hubby and I were down that way we would come and help too. Now that job of doing the gardening part will be so much fun with all those little ones to help Good Luck to you all for a job well done....
Cheers...MM.

P.S. The rain stopped but we got 31.5 mm...

Things are coming along - we are almost finished converting the 'big room' doing the plaster and electrics today Fencing, carpark, floor coverings - that's down the track. Because there is 5 acres and a lot of it is low lying and tends to get swampy, we are thinking a wetlands, frog ponds and bird sanctuary - one day! For now it will be a few Petunia's. I'm off to the native nursery for some windbreak trees on Sunday. I think the calf will be sold but Rosie is a good friendly cow and will be great for teaching the kids. I've just nicked home to get some food - better get back..........
