Will SE Qld get any rain from Cyclone Larry

| They are certainly having a bad time of it up north such a shame it causes so much damage, though that rain is badly needed down south here and I am sure they would love some in the west parts of the state..
Heard on the 8am news there was another cyclone forming up there somewhere, but we need it to drop its load somewhere other than where Larry is, and we pray that no lives will be lost..I hope our Members from up North will be able to tell us they are OK when they are able...Cheers...MM. |

| MM, my Brother and his children and their families live in Innisfail, I just got thru to one of them and there is a Church on my Brothers house and trees round the places nearby have gone somewhere else in the wind mixed with various parts of places. They are all very careful up there about keeping their yards clear of rubbish but the iron from sheds and bits of houses make very dangerous flying objects. Our Grandchildren in Ayr had no wind but extremely heavy rain there at the moment and they are happy to report that School has been called off for today. This one may be a bit too far north for you to get any rain from but we can only hope it will turn and bring some down .

| I too am hoping that everyone is okay up that way. It is heartbreaking to see the damage but at least plants and houses can be replaced - lives can't. Lets hope that Larry quickly turns into a rain depression and heads south (less the wind) or that Cyclone Wati brings us some good rain but no wind. |

| g'day mm, might be some coastal stuff in it but other than that the drenched over wet north will get it all. hoping the next one hits the coast closer down this way say around mackay to rocky then the state will get good water. len |

| Marion thats terrible that a Church has ended up on your Brothers house, also sad to hear that the trees are gone, but thankfully more can be planted.. I can just imagine all that tin flyng around Hubby and I sat up through Cyclone Justin when we live north of Townsville and the next door neighbour had that dont care attitude "she will be jake mate " kind of thing and one guess where all this loose flying objects landed up..one sheet of roofing iron sliced right though two of our banana palms.. I managed to get hold of my brother in TSV he told me because they are on the fringe they are getting a fair bit of wind but also plenty of rain . I do hope all your family are ok.... Hi GH Yes it would be good if we could get some of that rain . And Len maybe that next one will come down a bit further south that would be very nice....Cheers...MM. |

we are in mackay and havn't had a real lot of rain. forgive me if you are already aware but you can have good look at the bureau of meteorology site www.BOM.gov.au, try the radar and satelite pages. another interesting page is in the marine section under observations, gives the rainfall windspeeds etc all along the coast.
