hi
heres hoping some one can shed some light on why my apricot tree is oozing sap, it is about three years old and has been a very healthy tree, last winter I gave it a light prune otherwise there has been no injury to it and doesnt look like there is anything wrong with it except it is oozing sap from several parts of it.

thanks in advance

I have the same problem with my tropical nectarine tree some kind of gel I put it down to, too much moisture as we have had a decent amount of rain this summer, and it you are not living in the top half of Oz maybe you are watering it too much..

If the Gel/sap is down near the base check for borers.. Or it could be some kind of canker..

Have a read of the link below it may help..

Here is a link that might be useful: Fruit Trees oozing sap.

Hi from a pom living in Greece . Without a doubt it is due to excess watering , the tree is stressed , and if it is allowed to continue you will get die-back on the branches.I say this because I fell into the same trap using drip irrigation here in Crete , and it was a time before I noticed the gumming, and by that time I lost a big branch. far less irrigation is needed
