hm do you mean each one of us in different climate zones grow the same strain of plant to see how they perform? and give each other feedback?

RE: Growing

So long as it is an iris or closely related :-)
How about Louisianna irises? Oops - that's no good for our friends in SA - they can't grow them - soil too alkaline.

You only got grasshoppers paradisi, LUCKY YOU my garden is inundated with caterpillars of all shapes sizes and colours even the birds cant keep up with them.

And if we dont get rain in the next couple of weeks Brissie gardeners will be watering all plants with a bucket not looking forward to it with 3/4 of a acre to do.

And I have no luck with Iris's.

What type of plant were you thinking of Bev, food or something pretty. Let us know ....Cheers..MM.

I would love to give it a go.
Great idea.

I have some Louisianna Iris growing up here but in a bathtub of water not soil, they were in a pot at first but they have jumped out of that and are dong well with just the water and accumulated buts that have fallen off the plants.
I love them

RE: Growing

G'day boys and girls, (I usually say Hi and I am trying to not use all things usa. Not because I have anything against them but feel we are using too many of their expressions and losing our own.. But that's another story. I was wondering if anyone else is interested intrying to grow an old fashioned hydrangea from a piece. A lot of people still have the old variety in their gardens and I don't have any luck with the new ones from the nursery.
