Hi,

I have just put a bit of Turf down and have about 1/2Ton of organic turf underlay left over (I think its a mix of river sand and compost/organic matter).Could I use this on the garden and mix it in?
TIA
Greg

RE: Turf underlay as Garden soil??

Just be aware that turf underlay is usually 80% coarse sand and 20% black soil, so it would be best mixed with a good deal of compost or good soil. You could add it straight to the garden, but don't overdo it. If your soil is already sandy it would certainly be better with a lot of improvement. It would be a shame to see it go to waste.
Cheers,
Dee.
