What Palm is this?

Could someone please tell me the name of this palm.

Only because of that fantastic trunk and root formation, I was thinking "Ponytail Palm". Which, is not a palm but a member of the liliaceae family.
The only one I'm familiar with growing though is Beaucarnea recurvata, but with yours leaves are upright not curving down.
I've found in my ref book Beaucarnia gracilis which has that upright growth and multi-stemmed look, still with the broad "foot" of a base. Though the pics didn't do it justice.
I THINK that's what you have, try googling for pictures of "ponytail palm" and you will find some of the more upright variety.

better late than never hey? don't frequent these forums much nowadays but anyway it is a pony tail 'beaucarnia' something like that not a palm at all related to the lilly family as i recall treat like a succulant very drought hardy.
