| Dear Met Office
When did you say the rain was arriving? Big banks of black clouds, screaming northerlies, southerly changes - and still the clouds hold their own. Would you please start the Rain Dances and sacrifices of morning scones so we get some rain? Thank you. V. |

| Well, it has been raining here in Nelson for the last three days. It's been off and on again and I have only been able to get out into the garden a few times. We are in the throes of getting a new section into lawns and garden. Went on a garden trail last week end. Came home and looked at what had been planted and now unsatisfied with my efforts, it looked very piecemeal. So went out on Monday and bought three nandina, three heuchera and three chrysanthemums, each of those three exactly the same variety and colour. Now just have to wait until the new borders are prepared. Hope it rains for you soon. Bonza |

| Hi Bonza According to the lady in Nelson the garden trail is one of THE events for the top end of the south. All sorts of yummy gardens and social events. Which Heuchera did you get? I've been eyeing up 'Midnight Claret' and making mental moves in the garden to accommodate it but the reality has yet to catch up! I've noticed that several of them are great for about three years then they really need division and a new site. Has that been your experience? I also like the Tiarellas - all those foamy flowers and the interesting leaf patterns. For me, they go well with Hostas and the big Catlins Giant Ajuga. Very vigorous when fed. Hope you can call by again to keep us up with gardening in your area. |

| Woohoo! 24hrs of nice, drenching, rain - could've been a bit warmer though and would have liked the rain to last a bit longer to give a decent soaking, but I shouldn't complain too much...oh for a weather dial! Bonza, sounds like you had fun! I would love to go on some garden trails one day. I love wandering around gardens and getting ideas. Couldn't think of a better way to spend a day or two! |
