I got a few cuttings of Phyllocladus alpinus from the botanical garden in Bonn/Germany. Two rooted successfully and are now beginning to grow. How can I help them to establish themselves properly. I would be very grateful for any cultivation details on this plant.

From NZ native plants

Semi-shade is best for all species. They prefer a soil that has been well worked, with ample moisture in dry spells. propagation is easiest by seed.

I will check out a couple of more native books and see if I can find any more info.

Heather:

Where can I find seed? All the forestry departments and seed sources have none. Anyone have ideas?

Cheers,

There are none on this list but you could email them to ask if they are available.
