Landscape architectur in New Zealand

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

I am employed as a garden and landscape architect in Germany. My current contract expires in November 2006. It is a great interest of mine to have the opportunity to work in New Zealand for approximately three years. I studied landscape architecture in Berlin and have over eight years' professional experience in various types of landscaping design and city planning, including several jobs with private companies and one with a municipal government. Could you please give me some information about professional prospects for landscape architects in your area? What are the chances of finding work in the private or the public sector? Can you recommend any contacts? Also any general information on how to apply for jobs would be appreciated.

I appreciate your help and look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,
Christian Kuenzle

Hi Christian

Try www.immigration.govt.nz for info on temporary work permits and ways to come in.

Lincoln College in Canterbury might be useful to explore, too, as they have a landscaping department and are located in an area that shows a lot of interest in landscaping.

There's also www.wairere.co.nz to look at and possibly contact.

Hope that gets you started.
