Maggies Garden Show is puke making!

| There I have finally put in print what I think. It was a good show years ago when it was Palmers but now it is sad and tired and it should be put out of it's misery. I would like to see a show that was more down to earth and not so PC. Where people are normal people instead of smart ass primadonnas. Where people have gardens and not-vistas-garden rooms-or other twee catchphrases. Bring on the revolution and put it out to pasture. Replace it with another garden show, reruns of Mash, Shortland Street anything, just get rid of it. Glenn. |

| BBY is another one, but I wouldn't dare post that on the Aussie forums ;) |

| Glen, I sort of agree, but it is a very popular show hence it will be kept on Liatris, we get BBy again and it is not as good as it used to be either, but I still waich them both. Heather |

I also agree, gardens that are segregated according to colour, not interested.Like the Prof. though. I don't watch it much any more there is little of interest in it. Trisha |

| Funny thing, just recently wondering how many bother to watch BBY any more - I think that they may be in for a shock if they carried out a fair dinkum survey - they've lost the plot if you ask me - not really interested in dogs or horses or the same old regurgitated garden 'snippets' if I'm looking for a good garden program - bit like one of our well known garden mags - great for the classifieds but don't expect anything too exciting by way of good articles among the ads! |

| I agree BBY are a wasted space on TV, but ABC had a great concept of a gardening show then they changed it now i dont even get to see that. Pete and his folk do an excellent job in promoting the garden is it possible we might get a movie length occasionaly? and reverts back to its old time slot so more gardeners can watch not the rubish that they replaced it with. |

| Yeah and only 2 kiwis! We are due for an election, can you imagine what would happen if the same interest is shown with that. |

1 & a half Kiwis, :-)) and 3 million sheep. Heather |

I could never understand Spike splitting the 'Down Under' forum into Aus and NZ. It would be like giving a forum to Ballarat, and another one for the rest of Aus. No ..... I think a forum for Ballarat members would have a larger following than the NZ one. I understand the need for local knowledge, but a combined Aus and NZ forum would still have fewer problems than the US forums where the climate varies enormously. I guess I should have posted this to the Keeping the NZ forum alive thread :-) Cheers, Jan |

| Better late than never, just joined this website - where are all the NZ gardeners??? Maggies garden show is more than puke making it is pathetic..... I am in the horticultural industry and refuse!!!! to watch it.... This can make life difficult when customers say 'I saw .... on Maggies Garden Show.... I just say, actually I don't watch it... and the neat thing is I can usually identify what they want to know about!!! Yippee... I agree it was good YEARS AGO!!! |

I agree , why don't they let that old guy that has the terrific vegie garden host it, hes really great. Is it me or does their always seem to be same sex couples gardens on show? Anyway I'm more interested in seeing cottage gardens, or along that line not sculptored and fashion statements. Garden is about your creations, isn't it not keeping up with trends. |

| I totally agree with all above sentiments--I know this is very late!!! but I am a very new member. Just when are the program makers going to heed the feedback and give us some decent stuff on tv. All Maggies stuff is so bloody contrived, stark boring makeovers, fashion statement plants and all that crap has been done to death. BBY is a relative novelty in NZ but after 2-3 programs dullsville! |
