Is Autumn gonna be summer?
| | |
Posted by Bob13 (My Page) on Sun, Mar 3, 02 at 5:14
I have been waiting for the settled weather of summer and everyone I'v talked to says that this summer has been the worst summer they can remember.
Now autumn is here the temperature is being extreme, for the last few days my thermomiter has read between 28-32 degrees outside.
Every attempt I have had at growing tomatoes or potatoes this year has met with the blight,I am finally getting fruit on some tomato plants that don't have the blight (fourth time lucky)
Has anyone else had this problem? |

| Hi Bob, I have a good crop of potatoes but the tomatoes are struggling. Have just picked the first tomatoes. Also had trouble with my zucchini plants. Now the roses have started losing their leaves. Autumn seems to definitely be on the way. |

| My roses are looking decidedly sad. Luckily we didnt try and plant anything edible this year due to long stay visitors. All our dogwoods are deciding its Autumn. |

| Not down around Oamaru and places further south if my recent trip is any indication! One minute leaning on the howling north westerlies the next being 'snap frozen' by the southerlies! complete with fresh snow on the mountains. For all that, love your country and your gardens - just about everyone seems to have their share of beautiful trees and shrubs - reminds me of Melbourne but I think you're doing it better! |

| I hope so! Do you know, I've been able to COUNT the butterflies I've seen so far? 4 Monarchs, 4 Cabbage Whites, 3 Black Admirals, 1 Red Admiral, and NO Little Blues! Maybe during these hot afternoons it'll be more like summer! |
