| Alison most of the senecios have moved to Brachyglottis Book says B huntii Rautini This is a tall and showy shrub that is native to Chatham Islands. In the wild it can grow to 6 mtr high but may only reach 3-4m in cultivation. The lance-shaped pale green leaves roll back slightly on the edges and occurr in crowded rosettes. In summer the daises are a magnificent sight when they appear in large terminal panicles, crowning the tree with golden yellow. Rautini should be given a postion in the sun. It is not as drought resistant a B greyii prefering cool moist climates, and appreciates better soils. In cultivation it can be rather short lived, often as a result of 'phytopthora' attack. It sounds a bit difficult for your area and I haven't seen it for sale here. Chathams are a cold very windy place, from what I hear. Looks a pretty flower which I can post if you want. Heather |
