Best Kiwi Gardening Related Sites

Greetings from Oz
Will be visiting NZ South Island again in March - love your country and have great times there. I am wondering if anyone can provide addresses of some of your online horticultural sites particularly any that talk about NZ native plants/trees. Am into seed raising so also interested in any good seed source info. We will fly into and depart CHCH and are hoping to travel as far down as south of Invercargill before coming back up the East Coast.
TIA

I have a site thats really good for native seeds and has some pretty exotic seeds for sale pretty cheap too,I have visited the garden as it's not far from my home here north os Auckland. Also a large garden centre always has a native seed stand.

I have bought a few packets of these seeds and hav'nt really had a lot of joy as yet..still persisting though, thats gardening !!

Hope you enjoy your holiday.

Many thanks, Daniel, Heather and 'joliness'. Info much appreciated and relevant. Daniel, keep persevering - as you are probably aware from seed sites there are lots of factors - temperature, season, soil mix, darkness, stratification etc and some seeds will not germinate without the prescribed conditins. Nevertheless, I usually find that most seeds will germinate in a mix (eg sieved potting mix with added peat or coco fibre) that retains moisture, that is enclosed under polythene and set in a warm environment such as your kitchen window ledge or on top of the HW system or refrigerator until you have a good showing. Eventually you will have the same 'problems' others do - where to get the time to pot on and who to swap with or give away your seedlings to!
