I am in Australia and have a Feijoa tree and I know they are pretty well known in Nz maybe one of you can help??Tt seems to be dying. The leaves have gone brown and dry ( no not dry from no water a differant brown colour and curling up and dying) there seems to be new shoots on the end of the branches but the old leaves are looking very sad. Any Suggestions. Also how do you tell if you have a male or female plant??
Thank you

Michele,I can only suggest that you use a combination insectide/fungicide spray to see if that helps they hardly get anything wrong over here - shot hole and scale. If you have a grafted plant chances are that it is self fertile, some varieties fruit better with a pollinator. Hope that can help ? Maybe it needs a shade cloth cover over it to protect from the searing long periods of sun it rains a lot here. ?
