Just wanted to say hello!

| I was just doing an internet search trying to find information on the New Zealand rose (the rose by that name.) And I stumbled across this forum. I spend a great deal of time in the rose forum here. I had no idea there were individual country forums. It's probably silly for me to even write this little "hello" but I couldn't resist. New Zealand is such a BEAUTIFUL country. Not that I've ever been there. I've only seen photographs and everything is always so breath taking. I live in the desert, in America (Utah.) Deserts are lovely in there own way, but I would love to see something green. My husband and I are both professional photographers and have spoken about visiting NZ several times (or maybe you'll let us live in your garden shed and throw food scraps to us, you wouldn't have to tell the police we were there...no one would have to know about the crazy illegal Americans living there!) But I'm sure NZ is already crawling with photographers:-) Oh but it costs more than a few dollars to find our way there. Anyone want to hire a photographer?:-) Well, happy gardening everyone!!I just wanted to give a shout out to the people across the pond! Anita |

Hi..you are right NZ is beautiful (thanks for the compliment) and NZers are a bit slow otherwise they would have already replied by now! You may have seen a lot of NZ on the "Two Towers" albeit digitally enhansed. We do get a bit sick of hobbits who are always getting in our way though.LOL I live in Taranaki on the Western side of NZ. At the moment we have Tom Cruise living in splendour up the coast about 10 miles while he films "The Last Samurai". I own a nursery and have chickens and fruit trees, dogs and zillions of heirloom tomatoes thanks to you guys on the US forum. You have to remember that the US $ is almost double ours so you could come over here and live like royalty. Regards Glenn in NZ |

| US dollars are twice NZ dollars? Wow, I could afford to stay in a really nice garbage pail then:-) LOL!! Glenn, it sounds like you have a very productive garden! Do Hobbits help with your gardening or just steal your food?:-) Anita (in freezing winter, thinking about how warm it is in New Zealand right now.) |

USD = a little more than 1/2 NZD at present rates. $1 US is approximately $1.85 NZ |

| Even with an exchange rate like that...I don't think we could afford to visit -hence, my garbage pail joke:-) At least not right now. It is good to know though! Maybe we could save up for our next vacation. That would be wonderful!! Anita |

You know if you came over, you would have more than enough places to stay at for free, gardeners love visitors and we love to show our hopitality. Raine |
