Mine flowered a couple of months ago, same colour as yours. It's a pity they don't put on a display for a lot longer. I also have the H. papilio, huge bulbs, produces lots of pups but has never flowered.

It looks like a Vallota lily
Family: Amaryllidaceae.
Vallota speciosa Dur. et. Schinz (Vallota purpurea Herb.). Common name(s): Fire Lily, Scarborough Lily
Vallota Syn. Cyrtanthus purpureus, Cyrtanthus elatus.

I have never seen Vallota lily in Canada, for sale, but we do have many Amarillys/hippeastrums here for the Christmas houseplant market. I have been growing them, ever since they were introduced from South Africa, many, many years ago.

of this plant makes a humdrum Hippy certainly more interesting-but wait, there's more!! Today we expect the start of the real heat-into the 40's so we'll see how it goes .

Yes Bill, the same one !!,I didn't want to be repetitious but it was a bright look for the New Year so worth posting. So far it is surviving the extreme heat well and we're going to get plenty of that
