Nice looking and rich in blooms. Last year, I ordered Chincherinchee, from a garden nursery, but failed to notice that it was the Ornithogalum -Arab_Eyes. In a couple of weeks I had two meter and a half shoots, with smallish blooms on end. After that it went dormant, and still continues to do so. Very disappointing, after I saw yours. Yours are called," florists nightmare", as they last so long..
Thanks Bill nd Inga, As I recall it was Inga who gave me information on the ChinChins and Bill gave further advice. I'm still looking for info on the dragon tail onion? if you can help. chas
Yes Inga, strange indeed, as We have had it for years and it has performed the same every year. I took it away from its usual spot to take these shots for i.d. purposes and its now back in its usual cool(er) spot. chas.
I've always known this as Albuca bracteata or "Pregnant onion". Used to be Ornithogalum longibracteatum but had a name change a while back.
Ted
PS: These are terrific plants to re-locate -- just pull them straight out of the ground and just drop them (literally !) where you want them to grow. :)
