Jasminum Rex.
With reference to a recent posting concerning banksias, I thought I'd just post this. This is Jasminum Rex (Royal Jasmine), which was sold to me from a well respected nursery in Sydney as Jasminum multipartitum is (was) obviously misnamed (check it out on Google). Mind you, I'm not complaining, but it just goes to show that you can never be 100% sure that what you buy is what you get. In fact I've just recently complained to a supplier that the grafted Eucalypt I bought through mail order (a respected mail order company), Corymbia ficifolia, 'Baby Orange', which I bought in 2009, has not flowered. I complained but all I got was surprise that it hadn't. No suggestion of a replacement of course. I guess I'll just have to persist. But will I dig it out? It's now 6 metres tall! Or get a refund ($69)? No, I guess I'll just have to grin and bear the disappointment. Mind you, my Banksia (a recent post that was challenged) was not mis-named, it's just that sometimes the right hand of horticulture has no idea what the left hand is doing. Such is life.
