I'm looking to put the lovely dense groundcover Soleirolia soleirolii in a largish area and have worked out that I need at least 20 plants to start off - at $4 plant thats $80 on groundcover plants, which I don't want to spend. Is it possible to get seeds of this plant or if not does anyone have tonnes of it growing that I can buy a postpak full or something???

If you buy yourself one largish pot you can divide the plant into an almost infinite number of plants. Keep it moist and you will have cover in no time!! You need only the tiniest bit to propagate from. I can post you some if you would like.....Cheers, Dee.

Thanks Dee. So I assume from your comment its fast growing, so I will just go and buy a plant (thanks for your offer) as I have a 15m x 2m area to cover, and 1 x 4inch pot for $4 at the nursery won't go far unless its rapid!!

It is pretty fast...the moister, the faster. With an area that size though, I'm not sure that one pot will do it! It will cost you $4.50 for postage if you get some posted. I would buy 4 pots if it was me and break each plant into 1/8th pieces and plant them evenly around the area. I assume the area does not get afternoon sun or it will not be terribly successful. Shade and moisture is what they like.....Cheers, Dee.
