Dont think Australia is that advanced to grow beautiful plants like Puya's sadly.
Seems the seed companies here are so narrow minded.

Hello Island girl, I have three different puya's growing which were purchased from bromeliad society shows - they are around but if you are looking for the blue and green flowered one you will probably only find it growing in the Mt Tomah botanical garden in NSW which is a more suitable climate for it than most of Queensland. I think there is a " Friends of the Gardens" in sydney botanical gardens and that they have sales of plants and seeds from time to time. Try them. If you want seed of an orange flowered grass like brom which I think is a puya (no definate id) contact me by email.

Hi Plantsplus

I was wondering if you still have any Puya seeds available to sell or trade? Regards

RE: WANTED: Puya

I have Puya Venusta seeds that I plan to grow & like you, am looking for the Blue Puya. A place called Trade Winds Fruit stocks them apparently. $US2.00 plus shipping. They might be worth a shot. I am not plugging them or anything. Some suppliers - like Roguelands - are dodgy, so approach with caution of course.
Btw, anyone have Native Blue Ginger seeds?

Here is a link that might be useful: Trade Winds Fruit
