WANTED: Where can I buy Full grown hedge plants??

Posted by jlst102 Qld (My Page) on

Hi All,

I saw on a tv show just recently, potted orchids, which were suspended and growing from the base of the pot.

I think they were cattleyas?Growing upside down, does anyone know where these can be bought???

Plus, I'm interested in purchasing full grown hedge plants, (screening plants) That grow approx upto 50 ft or more. Ideas of plant varieties and suppliers for these adult plants would be most welcome.

And a coffee tree please.

Many thanks for our suggestions and info in advance.

RE: WANTED: Where can I buy Full grown hedge plants??

Bamboo will grow to that height, try a search for bamboo, eumundi markets. I cannot recall the right name but there was a grower at the Crystal Waters Permaculture villiage (I think Hans Eckhardt??) who had an excellent selection and I believe he sells at the Eumundi Markets. I would not however reccomend Bamboo if it is to be planted en masse near a house as it is very flammable, but it would be fine for a boundary planting on a larger site. We have used it to screen a large ugly shed on an adjoining property and once it starts to grow it gets tall quite quickly. We used Bambusa oldhamii, buddhas belly and chinese weavers bamboo and they've all worked well even with drought conditions. Cant help with plants that advanced.
