OK, I think you should be able to see an image of the cutting by clicking on the link below (fingers crossed) ...

Here is a link that might be useful: Brug cutting

I clicked on the image and saw a brugmansia cutting and a tabebuia tree which looks lovely. It looks a little from the picture like a flowering cherry. Can you tell me if it is evergreen and would grow in sub tropical regions. The council just removed two umbrella trees from our home that had been there 21 years or more, the roots were all over the footpath and an accident waiting to happen and I am wondering if they will replace them with something in place. Preferably evergreen, medium, non-invasive and pretty would be a plus. We have low power lines and the umbrella trees were always being lopped by Ergon energy. I asked about the Ivory curl tree as a replacement and the gardener who arranged for the tree-cutting told me that might be possible. Any suggestions and any help appreciated. Thank you all.

Jan, you would most likely find the tabebuia too tall for your intended purpose. It is very pretty though.

Someone else on the message board has identified that tree as Tabebuia impetiginosa, which does indeed grow in the subtropics. But it grows to 15m or more apparently, and it's not evergreen either as the leaves are shed briefly, so probably not a good choice for you. Hopefully someone else can recommend a good tree for you (I'm still too new to the region).
