If you already know what a fabulous palm this is, live in Victoria and have never managed to find one in a nursery...you need to speak to a Jubaholic. I am holding.

Hey Jo, haven't seen you at the palmtalk forum for a while.

Cheers

Hi Sol,

How's the cool climate palm garden? Don't really participate in palmtalk these days, tho' I do look in to admire all the 'palm porn'. Thought I'd try Gardenweb to see if there are any local enthusiasts, but *tumbleweeds*

Thre is a palm forum on the gardenweb US site you could look at. Garden is going well down here, how is yours going. Are you bananas producing seeds yet?

Garden's flying along thanks, Sol. Lost the odd subtropical to endless low humidity over summer, but otherwise all is peachy. The Parajubaeas are finally on the march - can you see them from your place yet?

US forum is not what I'm after - actual, rather than virtual contact with other temp climate palm nuts is what I'm really after. We don't even have a PACSOA chapter in Victoria.

Bananas yet to flower, but thriving. How are your basjoo etc?

Hi Jo the Basjoo is going well.

The other two died as a result of moving house, they got some sort of larvae in the potting soil which ate away at the corm. I would love to be able to get one of those AE AE ones.

I notice that Adam and Chris or Tim do not post very much either now, do you keep in touch with them? Wondering how Chris' Bismarckias are going.

I have two Ceroxlyn planted both going well also Parajubea Coocoides and Tor Tor. I have put in a Eutrepe Edulis - I think these are quite hardy.

As an experiment I have planted a seed grown Astrcaryum Alatum, see how it fares in the garden. There are quite a few temperate growers on the IPS forum. You used to be a prolific poster, are you just looking for an Australian forum.

Anyway if you can post some pics of your garden on the IPS forum I would be able to see how your Parajubeas are going.

I am also growing gingers, bamboos, cordylines as well as other misc foliage plants, I don't like the look of nothing but palms. I remember you liked Kniphofias (red hot pokers) there is a great one called northiae has aloe like leaves.

Will start to get cold soon
