It's apparently good for eliminating sour/bitter tastes of foods, and possibly beverages too.
wondering if anyone happens to have seed or cuttings available?
thanks. |

I have one, a lovely little plant. It is amazing, can make a lemon taste sweet but don't use it before you have a beer,it will turn you off beer !!!! Will save a seed for you next time they fruit. Marion. |

As I am in Queensland, frost is seldom a problem, but I think they would not like it. My bush is going fine in a pot though, so I think that warped could do the same, and bring it in over winter. I have mine growing in a spot that receives morning sun, but a bit filtered, at the edge of the greenhouse, but its on paving with a brick wall behind so gets retained heat in the afternoon and humidity. It doesn't seem to like to be too exposed as the new leaves wilt badly in heat or if water is not kept up. It's some years old but still small, say 2 feet, but has been fruiting for 3 years. I try to keep up the water to it and the top of the pot is mulched, which seems to help with the acidity it needs, as well. It seems to be slow-growing though I dare say a bit of TLC would push it along. I have a seedling -grown - still only tiny, if warped wants to give it ago I'll send it down for postage costs. |

Just found this thread again. Pam, mine is in a pot and is about 3ft high. They are not a very big plant but quite lovely, it has been fruiting off and on for a few years now but I have to really watch it or the fruits just seem to disappear for some reason. As Alison says they like to be a bit protected from the sun, I have seen them doing very well planted under the front steps of a high house, like water. I have promised seeds to someone but will just have to find out who and watch the plant to catch the next lot of fruit. I had some in the freezer, great fun when we have visitors, I give them one and then a piece of lemon. Marion |
