Jamus, A daft question - I just dug over a bed which was well planted with Bluebells, Sparaxis, Dutch Iris and Daffs. The Bluebells seem to have two style of bulb - a round one and some 'finger' shaped ones. At least I'm assuming these are the Bluebells because I've never seen Iris and Daff bulbs that shape and I thing Sparaxis are corms. This is my first experience with these, can you advise, do they grow from the finger shaped ones? If so, I have lots to give away if you run out! Cheers Cosmic |

| hi Cosmic, yes they do produce different shaped bulbs. the new (young) bulbs are often odd squiggly shapes and mature bulbs are the classic bulb shape. Another interesting observation, when you dig up bluebell bulbs and expose them to sunlight they go purple! Nice easy method to identify them by. |

| Thanks for that Jamus - I noticed the change in colour - seems to happen at the 'top' not the root end. I have excess if anyone wants them and you run out. Cosmic |

is this the spanish or english bluebell? i rather value the english because its fragrant and more elegant looking flowers. The spanish one is good for its hardiness and will to mass produce. Also spanish comes in pink , white and purple. |
