For the tomato people

| Happy new years all. Hope things are all well for you all.
My tomatoes are doing suprisingly well over this hot dry summer the fruit fly have had their way with some plants but my broad ripples and currant tomatoes are rampant tomato producing monsters.
My question however is regarding tigerella tomatoes, seeds sourced from Eden seeds. The fruit don't seem to be right. One plant is producing heart shaped tomatoes the size of a tennis ball and the other has fruit more flatter and bigger again. I thought that tigerrellas were a large cherry size. They are yet to colour so I don't even know if they will be striped. I will take some photos and try and post if anyone is interested.
I can garentee I did not mistake the seeds for something else. So maybe it was a mislabelled seed packet at their end, either way I'm not too upset it seems a nice strong variety and it produces well. We have had weather in the mid 30s for a couple weeks now and the two plants keep soldiering on. I will certainly be saving seeds.
What do you guys think? |

| All the best for the new year to you too Mick. Tigerella, at least those from Eden Seeds, should be almost perfectly round and about the size of an oversized golf ball. I can't remember if the stripes are evident on the unripe fruit or not. From the sounds of it, you've either got a ring in or two, or their supplier has crossed up the seeds. It's worth letting them know so they can determine whether they need to source fresh, true seed or not. If you like the plant and fruit, then definitely save some seeds. If it's been crossed up then the chances are it's still segregating which means you'll probably get some variation next year too from your saved seeds. It's all fun and you never know, you might just get a great new variety out of it. |

| My Tigerella from Eden seeds have slight stripy markings but still small coz they're in Taz. Quite a promising crop coming on. Cosmic |
