Pinto beans

I have seen photos of pinto beans in a bean recipe book, one of those small modern books they sell in the main shops. They look so much like borlotti beans.

Any experts out there? I bought some pintos from santostrading today, they are a lighter color and imported. Same flavour?

I am going to use them for American recipes. I guess then I will have some idea.

I think pinto is also the name of a group of beans so-named because of similar seed colour. I could be wrong there. The colours in seeds darken as they age. You might like the link below.

I hadn't heard of Santos. Wow, good prices. You can buy a kilo of canellinis for the price of a packet of seeds. Might do some of my seed shopping there!

RE: Pinto beans

I was very impressed with Santos. I found them while looking for bulk cinnamon.

I did a search for pinto borlotti and found they are different. Will look at your link as well. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy your shopping.
