Hi
I have a nectarine tree that is already fruiting, all the other trees i have seen in the area just have blossom on them, is there any reason why mine is fruiting so early and any way i can stop it?
thanx

I suspect your local microclimate is probably a tad warmer than others. I wouldn't stop it fruiting, and I'm not sure that you can. If it's only a recent planting then the fruit will probably drop early anyway.
Sorry, not much help.

Is the fruit ripe right now? because that is super early, must have a very low chill that tree, sell it to the Queenslanders :)

RE: Nectarine Tree

hi thanx so much for your replies,
the fruit on the tree are still a long way off being ripe they are quite small. i didnt think about it being an early fruiting variety although im pretty sure its the same we had at a previous house that didnt fruit early. the only other thing i can think of is that it is in a fairly small area against a fence with a brick wall only a couple of metres away from it, making it a fairly warm area. although we did have a few heavy frosts in winter.
it is still a young tree , this is only its second season maybe next year will be different.
thanx again for your help
Lee
